British Museum is the oldest and one of the world’s biggest museums, dedicated to culture and human history. There are few places where you can admire as many historical treasures under just one roof.
Today, the British Museum hosts no less than eight million artifacts that illustrate and document the story of human culture from its beginnings to nowadays and has 94 permanent and temporary exhibitions. There is also an education department that offers a large variety of cultural services for adults, but also for children. There are other departments specialized in Sudan and Ancient Egypt, Medals and Coins, Oceania, Africa, and the Americas, Roman and Greek antiquities, Asian Prehistory and many others.
Suffice it to say that tourists will be fascinated by the Egyptian mummies or be inspired by the stunning exhibition of drawings and sketches.
