Minecraft is a highly popular game from the house of Mojang. With this new update, it is highly anticipated that the gameplay experience for players is going to be improved by a big margin. Mojang has hinted about two different kinds of ‘wild’ updates. The first wild update will be focussed on the great outdoors and spooky adventures. The second wild update aspect will focus on a newer swamp biome variant and wild mangrove trees. The deep dark biome is still going to be overloaded with frights.
Here is an itemized list for your convenient reading about what you can expect in the Minecraft 1.19 update:
Mangrove Trees:
This is a highly anticipated update, on the mangrove trees. In this upcoming update, the mangrove trees will have vines that will hang down from their leaves just the same as swamp trees do currently. Apart from this, the mangrove trees will also grow large, arch their roots and also enable you to walk and swim beneath them.
This mangrove tree can also be planted on land and water both and when they will grow they will have a base of twisty root blocks beneath their main mangrove wood trunks. Developer Mojang says that when you cut the trees down they can be turned into mangrove plants, which you can use on doors, fences, and other wood products. If you see the trailer video in a higher video bitrate (preferably in 4K) then you can notice this subtle mangrove tree update hidden carefully.
Mud Blocks:
If you look carefully then you might have noticed that the ground in the mangrove swamp is not made up of dirt blocks. It is actually covered entirely with mud. You can also create new Mud Blocks by dumping a water bottle on dirt. You can also put mud blocks on top of the new dripstone from the dripstone cave biome which can also dry out your mud block into a clay block.
Frogs And Tadpoles:
There are these new mobs that are also set to be introduced in this update. The frogs will have an actual baby tadpole avatar and like an axolotl, they can also be carried around in a bucket. The frogs will come in three different variants i.e swamp, snowy and tropical.
They will grow up into adult frogs; depending upon the biome they are in at the time they mature. Frogs will also have a propensity to chomp down both small slimes and magma cubes thereby producing slime balls and the new frog light item respectively.
Allay:
During last year’s Minecraft live poll, players chose this cute, flying blue creature called ‘Allay.’ Allay is a community that chooses a character that just loves collecting items, like if you give it a particular item then it will automatically grab similar items nearby and then bring them all back to you. Allay also loves music, so you can use a Note Block to give it a different drop location for its items.
Dangerous Warden:
This update had been originally planned for the 1.18 update but did not come through. So there is speculation ongoing that it will be included in this 1.19 update. It is also thought that the deep dark biome will be expanded further and it will look much scarier than before.
What might make the deep dark so much scarier now is that the skulk striker block which emits a screech when activated may put a dark effect on the nearby area? Also due to the skulk shrieker emitting a loud noise, you should get away from it quickly otherwise the dangerous warden will take notice of it.
The warden mobs are very dangerous and they will hunt you down by using sound. So the pulsing darkness effect of the shriker will amplify the giant warden’s feet stomping sound even more horrifying. If you see the video released you can actually see one tunnel out of the ground through some shulk blocks. This is an extremely terrifying scene and a lot of young players were shocked to see this too.

ANCIENT CITY
Discover some old relics hidden in the dark depths of these long-abandoned structures.

- The new Swift Sneaking enchantment is found in chests guarded by sculk sensors and shriekers
- The Reinforced Deepslate block is also located here, which cannot be found in Survival
- Ancient Cities do not spawn mobs
KNOWN ISSUES
- Although Ancient City structures originate in the Deep Dark biome, they extend well beyond it
- Ancient City structures can sometimes be submerged or destroyed by aquifers.
DARKNESS
- The Warden and Sculk Shrieker have a new mob effect that will afflict you with it when nearby.
- While having this effect, it lowers the gamma to an equivalent of “Moody”.
- The world will become darker so that the light sources are overshadowed by darkness in periodic pulses.
- Torches are more important than ever when the Warden is around!
- In your Options menu, there is a new Accessibility slider called “Darkness Effect”
- Controls the amount of darkness you get from a Warden or Sculk Shrieker, but not the distance of fog
DEEP DARK
Explore Minecraft’s darkest biome, the Deep Dark, deep underground.
- Even the most courageous players will be frightened by the dimly lit and eerie Deep Dark
- The Deep Dark has sculk covering its floor
- Deep Dark is home to only one mob: the Warden
SCULK
There must have been some source of rattling tendrils emanating from the Sculk Sensors, right? Introduce Sculk, a family of blocks that live in the Deep Dark.
- New Sculk block
- Sculk Sensors are notified when Wool blocks are placed on Sculk blocks, preventing interference with vibrations
- Sculk Veins added
- Sculk patches have these veins
- Unlike Glow Lichen, they can be oriented in any direction
- Waterlogged Sculk Vein
- Block Sculk Shrieker
- In addition to its boney appendages, this block responds to vibrations detected by Sculk Sensors by sending a warning call to distant Wardens.
- If you step on them, they will also feel that and call out to you!
- You’ll hear a Warden in the distance responding when it takes some time for one to arrive…
- The Warden will be summoned when the Sculk Shrieker is close enough. Be prepared for an immediate summon!
- Deep Dark Sculk Shriekers and Sculk Catalysts both generate Sculk Shriekers.
- In addition to its boney appendages, this block responds to vibrations detected by Sculk Sensors by sending a warning call to distant Wardens.
- Added Sculk Catalyst block
- A mysteriously soul-emitting block that blooms when mobs die within an 8 block radius
- Mobs that perish in the presence of the catalyst will not drop their experience
- Instead, a bubble charge will be created at the location of the mob’s death
- A mob will spread this charge across Sculk veins and Sculk blocks until it finds a valid substrate to convert to Sculk
- Every time a block is converted to Sculk, 1 value is subtracted from the charge each time the perished mob dropped XP
- In the Sculk Veins and Blocks, this charge will eventually decompose, but it will decompose much, much slower near the Sculk Catalyst than it will far away.
- A Sculk Sensor or a Sculk Shrieker grows if the charge decays four blocks away from the catalyst
- When charges move to the same position, their values also merge
- Silk Touch is required for all Sculk family blocks. Mining them drops experience
- Sculk family blocks are efficiently cut with the hoe
- In creative mode, the Sculk Sensor
SWIFT SNEAK
Your boots will be enchanted, allowing you to crouch and move as fast as walking when enchanted!
- There are three levels to this enchantment, which can be found exclusively in ancient cities
- You will be able to move faster while crouching if you apply it
- Does not work with Soul Speed, Frost Walker, or Depth Strider, and can only be applied to boots
WARDEN
It’s the Deep Dark that scares me! The Warden is an unstoppable force of nature that inhabits the Deep Dark, a creature with no eyes, roughly similar to the Sculk.
- They use vibrations to navigate just like Sculk Sensors
- To track down their prey when vibrations aren’t enough, they will also use their sense of smell – you can see them sniffing their surroundings to get closer to unsuspecting players and mobs
- In addition to their myriad ways of detecting you, don’t get too close! Wardens will notice you if you collide with them
- Wardens are everywhere in the Deep Dark – you just can’t see them. They slumber beneath your feet, and only dig out when enough Sculk Shriekers have alerted them of your presence
- A Warden will become angrier if it detects too many vibrations. As the souls in its chest beat fast, you can hear and see this
- A mob that has crossed the Warden’s anger threshold will face its prey and roar before charging
- The Warden will despawn within 60 seconds if it doesn’t notice you or get angry for 60 seconds
- Thrown projectiles have a special interaction with them
- Within five seconds of receiving two projectile vibrations, the Warden will grow angrier at the shooter
- The Warden will not grow angrier at the shooter if the Warden receives a projectile vibration more than 5 seconds after the last projectile
- In this manner, you can take loot from nearby chests without getting angry at the Warden
- Wardens will also disable shields when they hit them with their fists, which is unfortunate for all players
- There is no loot dropped by them
- Taking on a warden head on is not always the best idea, especially if it has emerged – you’ve been warned.
Conclusion
There are several speculations and rumors regarding this 1.19 update. Like the new big ancient city structures in the deep dark. Then there is that structure at the center of every ancient city. Also new are the way enemies die. You see, when an enemy will die near another one it will automatically convert the nearby blocks on the ground to Skulk Blocks, which you can also mine for experience gathering purposes.
